In den vergangenen 20 Jahren ist der Pferdesport national
und international – auch infolge der Globalisierung – ständig
gewachsen. Der Pferdesport hat sich vor ungefähr zehn
Jahren im Wesentlichen noch in Europa und Nordamerika
abgespielt, dann aber sind in den letzten Jahren der Mittlere
Osten, Asien, Russland und Südamerika verstärkt in den
Reitsport eingestiegen. Auch dadurch ist die Gesamtnach-
frage, insbesondere nach Springpferden weiter gestiegen.
Gleichzeitig gehen die Bedeckungszahlen in den großen
Zuchtländern Deutschland, Niederlande und Belgien deutlich
zurück. Dieses wiederum bedeutet ein geringes Angebot in
der Zukunft. Verringertes Angebot bei gleichzeitig steigender
Nachfrage bedeutet hohe Preise für das ausgebildete und
turniererfahrene Springpferd.
Erfolgreiche Investoren haben Ihre Pferde auf der ESI Auktion
gekauft und sie nach fortgesetzter Ausbildung wieder
Gewinn bringend verkauft. Viele Pferde sind mittlerweile mit
ihren Besitzern hoch erfolgreich im Sport zu sehen.

In the past 20 years, equestrian sport has continuously
expanded on a national basis and as a result of globalisation,
internationally as well. Until about 10 years ago, the sport
was centred in Europe and North America, but the Middle
East, Asia, Russia and South America have made their
presence felt in the last few years. This is one of the reasons
why the demand for horses – jumpers in particular – has
continued to rise. At the same time, the conception rates in
the major breeding countries of Germany, the Netherlands
and Belgium are trending downward. This translates into a
lower foal supply in the future. Against the background of ri-
sing demand, lower supply means high prices for developed,
proven jumpers.
Successful investors bought their foals at the ESI auction
and sell them profitable after the completion of their deve-
lopment phase. Many of these horses and their owners have
become highly visible and successful in the sport.
